SIMPLE APPROACHES TO ERADICATE POVERTY IN ACHOLI LAND.

1) The first thing to do is changing our mindset. Poverty lives in the mind. You can not be poor if you refuse to be poor. It's confirmed that poverty is a mental issue. How can a person with at least an acre of fertile land calls himself a poor man? Let's change our reasoning.

2) Embrace all funds(programs) from government targeting poverty eradication.

3) Every one must become productive. At least you must have some products for sales. It's really absurd that our children say they don't have work to do, yet they have big chunks of land lying empty.

4) People must learn to support one another.  Buy from the locals and by that, we keep our economy growing. If you buy from lurok's shops at the expense of our own, you are indirectly fighting our finances.

5) Let's try to improve on our services and products in terms of quality and quantity. Look at our eating points, hygiene needs improvement. Talking about agriculture, both quality and quantity of our farm products matter when it comes to marketing. When we produce small things yet companies are demanding for big tons, then we are still way behind.

6) Let's take risk and keep trying new things. If we don't take risk, there is no way we are going to become wealthy. Let's stop doing things only the olden ways. Our people want to keep planting maize the way our grandfathers used to do, which may not apply currently.

7) Our people should learn to specialize and take it very seriously whatever they are doing. It's so funny that you find one person planting 20 different kinds of crops and he expects to fetch big money from his hustle. Choose at least 2 or 3 crops and handle them in a great way.

8) Let's stop believing anything. Our people find pleasure in believing anything negative  they hear about government programs.

9) Let's be seekers of Knowledge and skills. We have to be skillful in everything we do. In both business and Agriculture, we have to employ new skills.

10) Be schemers of opportunities. Don't let any one lie to you that it's bad to scheme and tap any opportunity that comes around. Stay updated.

11) Learn to save and invest your finances.  No money is too small to be saved. Don't wait for millions in order to start a business. Start something now.

12) Let's as well turn to perineal plants. Plants like coffee, vanilla, macadamia and other fruits will allow you harvest a lot of money for a long time and doesn't require you to keep going for planting after every 3 or 4 months.

13) Let's change our perception towards work. When God commissioned man to work, there was no paper work, so tilling the land is obviously our first job. Let's stop looking at farming as something meant for poor people, villagers or those who did not study or go far with education.

14) Stop this notion that somebody is responsible for your poverty. It's not your choice to be born a poor person, but it will be your choice to live on this Earth for many decades, grow old and die a poor man. It's okay to have this believe that might be some groups, organisation, government or kingdom is behind the collapse of our economy. It might be true or even false, but it is foolish to remain down and continue lamenting. Rise up and fight on. It's only you who can change your story. Not government, companies, organisations, political leaders or well wishers. Don't put your trust in anybody, only trust God the promise keeper, who commissioned us to work hard and eat from our sweat.
