OUR DAUGHTERS ARE BACK HOME FOR HOLIDAYS: BEWARE OF PERPETRATORS OF RAPE AND DEFILEMENT.

Covid-19 exposed to the whole world that children are more prone to a number of sexually related dangers at home during holidays, than at schools since between the year 2020 and 2022 thousands and thousands young girls left schools due to early pregnancy. This can be interpreted that parents are not doing enough to guide and protect their children from these evils. According to Police Annual crime reports, over 12,000 cases of defilements and over 1,600 cases of rapes were reported in Uganda in 2022 alone, minus series of cases not reported to police. This is a serious dilemma since thousands of these victims are girls under the age of consent. The brilliant dreams of these young girls are despoiled since a number of them end up conceiving, contracting STDs or both.  In most cases, these vices are committed by people known to these children, and it's very important to be concerned about the people you exposed your children to; Boda bodas and drivers are among the serous perpetrator...

The Acholi ancestors did tremendous jobs in reference to the rich culture; the dances they came up with, the proverbs, riddles, folktales, the varieties of traditional food and others. One peculiar and outstanding effort that Acholi should keep praising their ancestors for, is taking hold of a fertile plateau land. Acholi land is very precious. It's just unfortunate that enemies of nature are now destroying the environment, but it used to have two planting seasons(rainy) and dry season. Well balanced. Acholi people used to look at land as something used for raising children (gi pit). Selling land was a very rare practice. People could just give land to relatives and friends without demanding money.
