IS EUROPE THREATENED BY EAST AFRICA ECONOMIC INTEGRATION?

European parliament during their session on 13th Sept 2022 European parliament on Tuesday 13 September 2022 voted to delay Uganda Oil mega project on grounds of human rights violations in Uganda and Tanzania linked to investments in fossil fuel projects.  France's TotalEnergies and the China National Offshore Oil Corporation signed a $10-billion agreement earlier this year to develop Ugandan oilfields and ship the crude through a 1,445-kilometre pipeline to Tanzania's Indian Ocean port of Tanga. Corruption in Uganda is a character issue and blaming the government will offer no Solution

Corruption is one of the biggest vice in this country. Previously, embezzlement of office petty cash w as the most common, graduating to theft of billions meant for government programs. Corruption has now turned into a fully fetched cancer eating up different government departments and entities, Non Governmental Agencies, private companies and many others. In 2021, IGG and UBOS released a report putting Police top in corruption with 70%, Courts 53%, Land tribunals 53%, Public hospitals 47%, District Service Commissions 45%, Agricultural Extension services 43% and others follow. This continues to happen yet NRM government had made and still undertaking a number of attempts in curbing the evil;  Upon toppling Government of Gen. Is Kiswahili The Missing Link In Uganda's Quest For Unity And Development?

Kiswahili, also known as Swahili is the most spoken language in Africa. The language which originated from East Africa has now spread to more than 14 countries: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Somalia, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Comoros and as far as other countries in Middle East like Oman. Kiswahili which covers over 10 main dialects is now spoken by about three hundred million people.  United Nation recognised Kiswahili and resolved to put aside 7th July Every year as World Kiswahili Day, and this year's theme of celebration was; "Kiswahili for peace and prosperity" The mission for the Annual Celebration is to promote the use of Kiswahili language as a beacon for unity, peace and multiculturalism.
