The gimmick in Bardege-Layibi is not an honest bid for leadership but a double syndicate.

Bardege-Layibi became a constituency when Gulu municipality was elevated to a city status. In 2021 General Election, that constituency had the most powerful candidates in Acholi subregion. People who vied for the position of Member of Parliament Bardege-Layibi Constituency includes the last Gulu municipality member of Parliament, Hon. Lyandro Komakech, Counsel Tony Kitara, a renown lawyer and a proprietor of the Covenant bar and grill, Pastor Olal Roy and others. Hon. ojara Martin Mapenduzi who had exhibited peculiar and charismatic leadership ability during his time as speaker and Chairperson Gulu district emerged a winner in that tight race.  Upon his victory and eventual swearing in as the member of Parliament of the Constituency, he has made Gulu city and Bardege-Layibi Constituency in particular very tall, visible and loud. Because of his wisdom and abilities, the opposition entrusted Hon. Mapenduzi, a first timer in Parliament to head Local Government Public Accounts Committe...

GOOD HEALTH AND A PROSPEROUS 2024

As we count down hours to 2024, we vividly remember how difficult, the year 2023 was. We went through trials and temptations that indeed revealed our true colors. Many left us along the journey, and it's therefore very important to humble ourselves, worship and adore the name of the Lord for having stood with us during the difficult time. For friends and families who lost dear ones, remain very strong and look unto God for comfort and helps. If you truly seek him, he will manifest himself in your situation. Do not think that the new year coming will be better, no! All signs indicates that 2024 may be a hard year, but the only hope is that you can make yourself harder and be able to face it on. When the going gets tough, the toughest gets going, so do all it takes to be among the toughest! In the new year, stop fake life and live within your means. You don't need to over drink. Don't live to please others, but rather learn to love yourself first. For my dear sisters, let the...

The postulation of My Lord Alfonse Owiny-dollo on the paradoxical Executive Order.

Image
On 19th May 2023 president of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni issued Executive Order 03 2023 of which among others expels Balalo living in Northern Uganda illegally. Before the order comes to play, the president was propelled to extend its enforcement by three months, when his brother Gen. Caleb akandwanaho, Chief of Operation Wealth Creation wrote to him, advising that these Balalo herdsmen should be verified before expelling them, since a good number of them acquired land legally. After the first extension, the president again pushed the implementation of such on grounds that he is still reading the reports of the varification, reaching the local community living with these herdsmen, which later took place in Okidi. In one of the last meetings that Acholi leaders had with president Museveni on the same, Hon. Justice Alfonse Owiny-dollo Chigamoi led a team of Acholi leaders with representatives of political, Cultural, opinion leaders and others. Hon. Justice Alfons...

ACHOLI ARE NOT SELLING THEIR LAND WILLINGLY

Image
Aholi people do not hate other indigenous groups, because it's in record that Acholi took care of a lot of people who are not from Acholi Community, talk about Late Abiriga, Gen.Moses, Ali, President Museveni, Gen. Salim Sale and others. These leaders would not be alive if not because of the sacrifices made by our children.  What we are detesting is, the smart move of NRM government to settle Banyarwanda in Northern Uganda particularly Acholi subregion. It is childish to say people are selling their land willingly, yet people are being propelled by the destitution they are languishing in.  Even fools are well aware that Acholi used to keep their wealth in form of livestock and since they were all raided our people were left with empty hands. Whether these looters were Kjongs or not, NRM government takes the blames, because it happened in their regime, and it is the mandate of the government through a national army to defend its citizens. Acholi were ordered to leave their home...

THE WEST AFRICAN COUPS SHOULD NOT LET UGANDANS GET EXCITED

Image
On 30th August 2023 the news of Gabon coup started pouring on different medias. The Gabonese Army led by Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema took to the National Television announcing to Gabonese and international community that they have ousted President Ali Bongo, because of what they call electoral irregularities and unfairness. This brought Bongo's reign in the West African state to an end. Ali Bongo served as president of Gabon for 15 years succeeding his father Omar Bongo who had served for 41 years. Gabon incident came in a time when West Africa only within three years suffered at least 8 coups among others Niger's. The West African coups are running extremely fast like bush fire moving from one state to another with a number of grievances as woods fueling them. Most of these states in West Africa are semi independent since most of these countries are supposed to have their Reserve banks in Paris, France. The western world, France in particular can support a certain president a...

OUR DAUGHTERS ARE BACK HOME FOR HOLIDAYS: BEWARE OF PERPETRATORS OF RAPE AND DEFILEMENT.

Image
Covid-19 exposed to the whole world that children are more prone to a number of sexually related dangers at home during holidays, than at schools since between the year 2020 and 2022 thousands and thousands young girls left schools due to early pregnancy. This can be interpreted that parents are not doing enough to guide and protect their children from these evils. According to Police Annual crime reports, over 12,000 cases of defilements and over 1,600 cases of rapes were reported in Uganda in 2022 alone, minus series of cases not reported to police. This is a serious dilemma since thousands of these victims are girls under the age of consent. The brilliant dreams of these young girls are despoiled since a number of them end up conceiving, contracting STDs or both.  In most cases, these vices are committed by people known to these children, and it's very important to be concerned about the people you exposed your children to; Boda bodas and drivers are among the serous perpetrator...

LAND IS A FALL BACK RESOURCE: DO NOT SELL CARELESSLY!

Image
A precise note by Lucoromoi The greatest and most grateful people we can talked about are the great grandfathers of Acholi people. The Acholi ancestors did tremendous jobs in reference to the rich culture; the dances they came up with, the proverbs, riddles, folktales, the varieties of traditional food and others. One peculiar and outstanding effort that Acholi should keep praising their ancestors for, is taking hold of a fertile plateau land. Acholi land is very precious. It's just unfortunate that enemies of nature are now destroying the environment, but it used to have two planting seasons(rainy) and dry season. Well balanced. Acholi people used to look at land as something used for raising children (gi pit). Selling land was a very rare practice. People could just give land to relatives and friends without demanding money. People used land to raise money through planting cash crops like cotton, tobacco and others, and as well rearing livestock in order to get money for school f...

My Open Letter To Ministry Of Health

My Open Letter To Ministry Of Health P.O Box 7272 Nakasero, Kampala Uganda. RE: SYNDICATE AT GUL-LU HOSPITAL Gul-lu RRH announced new CT-scan services amidst questionable quality of services at the department                   The general public of Gulu City and Acoli sub-region as abwhole received with happiness the news of CT scan services at the regional referral hospital which has been the most searched for services in Aber Hospital and in kampala over many years.  The department which is well built and equiped with modern Radiology equipments including two ultrasound machines, digital x-ray machine and now the CT-scan with 1 dark room attendant, and two radiographers is operating at half or quarter of it's potential as over many years the quality of it's basic ultrasound scan results has be questioned by many doctors within the facility. On average every mother/patient do more than 2 scans because the scan results from the hos...

CREATE YOUR OWN JOB OR CONTINUE COMPLAINING AND GIVING EXCUSES.

I have decided to pen down this precise write-up, seeing how the young people are getting wasted into gambling, drugs and alcohol, because they are idle and frustrated after failing to get formal employment. Young people are getting old and even looking older than 60 years old. As young people, we are failing to understand that every day comes with 100 percent opportunities around us, but it takes humility, determination, focus, flexibility and "growth mindset" to be able to see.. Considering statistics which indicate that over 700,000 youth reach working age every year, but only 75,000 are absorbed in different available jobs, given the Acholi fertile land, Commercial agriculture would be a relief to the rest who fail to get formal employment, but it is very unfortunate that we are failing to make good use of what God gave us, and definitely grateful and wise people from other parts of the country are hiring and buying our fertile land, plant and sell their food to us, get m...

IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE FOR THE YOUNG PEOPLE TO CREATE THEIR OWN JOBS? IT IS POSSIBLE 100%

Image
"Where is the Job? We do not even have money for capital. Please  ask Government  to offer us jobs or donate each household  money. We do not  have land to dig.... " This statement was made by some Social Media Pundit in Acholi. These kind of statements from the young people come amidst million calls from political, social, cultural and opinion leaders asking youths to create their own jobs.  In Uganda, 78% of the population is under the age of 31.  while about 700,000 young people reach working age every year in Uganda, only 75,000 jobs are available. Most time when children are being brought up and taken to schools, they grow up thinking that, upon finishing their studies, government, organisation or a company will eventually employ them. Months after graduation, real life begins to appear different from the perception accumulated when at school. After completion of education, a few of your colleagues will get employed. With zeal you continue walking s...

SIMPLE APPROACHES TO ERADICATE POVERTY IN ACHOLI LAND.

Image
1) The first thing to do is changing our mindset. Poverty lives in the mind. You can not be poor if you refuse to be poor. It's confirmed that poverty is a mental issue. How can a person with at least an acre of fertile land calls himself a poor man? Let's change our reasoning. 2) Embrace all funds(programs) from government targeting poverty eradication. 3) Every one must become productive. At least you must have some products for sales. It's really absurd that our children say they don't have work to do, yet they have big chunks of land lying empty. 4) People must learn to support one another.  Buy from the locals and by that, we keep our economy growing. If you buy from lurok's shops at the expense of our own, you are indirectly fighting our finances. 5) Let's try to improve on our services and products in terms of quality and quantity. Look at our eating points, hygiene needs improvement. Talking about agriculture, both quality and quantity of our farm produc...

NRM IS A MASS POLITICAL PARTY

Image
Just like president Museveni learned a lot and forgotten nothing about how formation of political parties in a way so much associated to tribal and religious interest messed the country in the early days, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi instead learned nothing and forgotten all.  The agenda of NUP from its inception has never been clear to ugandans. The most unfortunate bit is that the cruelty getto boys and girls from central uganda have hijacked the party in away that the whole thing looks Baganda. President Museveni in his wisdom had established a platform that brings all ugandans together irrespective of religious affiliation and tribal line, before even rushing to register it as a party. NRM has proven to be a mass party for all. Leadership within the party does not sideline any Ugandan. Let's join NRM, but if you can not do so, just embrace its developmental programs like our elder, President General Norbert Mao did. Long live NRM! Long live Mzee! Long live Rt.Hon. Todwong! Lon...
